Why We Get A Gurgling Stomach
Experts believe that it takes around 2 million years for our body to adapt to a significant diet change – we have changed ours in just 10,000. That is approximately 500 generations.
Years ago the caveman diet consisted of 99% meat, vegetables, nuts and seeds and 1% grains and oats. Infact grains and oats would only have been eaten in times of starvation. Compare that to today’s diet with grains and oats making up 69% of our intake of food, the body has not been given enough time to adapt to this massive diet change and because of this our stomach is gurgling after eating, we are seeing conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and food allergies becoming more common. Caveman did not suffer from these conditions, they lived a healthy life by eating in a natural and healthy way.
What Is The Caveman Diet?
The Caveman Diet is also know as the paloelithic diet. It is a plan that was written by Professor Loren Cordain – although he says the plan was designed by nature. The basic idea of the plan is to only eat foods that a caveman could have eaten such as meat, fish, fresh vegetables, nuts, fresh fruits, herbs and seeds.
This diet plan has been shown to cure (or at least vastly improve) a large number of conditions such as acne, obesity, irritable bowel syndrome (ibs), gurgling stomach noise, digestion problems, weight loss, heart disease and so many more.
How Does It Cure These Problems?
A Caveman diet can cure gurgling stomach noises for several reasons.
The human body is not designed to eat a number of the foods that we are currently consuming such as fizzy drinks, refined foods – such as pasta and bread. Additionally the foods we are currently eating have preservatives, additives, excess sugar and salt, artificial fats to name but a few. It is these additions to our diet that are causing the gurgling stomach noises and diet related conditions. By reverting back to the diet of our ancestors – the caveman, we would eat in a healthier way that our stomach can deal with. Digestion of meat and protein is far easier to digest than bread, wheat, sugar and other carbohydrates. With a few simple meal plans and recipes you can see immediate results.
The Plan Is Simple
The plan is simple to implement. All that is required is for you to stick to caveman diet recipes or paleolithic diet recipes. These allow you to eat a variety of meat, game, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and fish. Eating in this manner is ‘being kind’ to your stomach and giving it the foods it needs and wants. Try cooking in this manner for a week and see the benefits that it will bring.
The hardest part of this plan is probably coming up with breakfast meals as these are generally centered around carbohydrates and sugary products such as croissants, cereal, toast, porridge and such like. These are your problem foods! I found that the recipes at www.cavemandietrecipes.eu are excellent and are easy to cook. These recipes give you no shortage of ideas.
I hope that a change in your cooking will help solve your gurgling stomach noises as it did for me.
